The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, or CASARA, is:
A Canada-wide volunteer aviation association dedicated to the promotion of SAR Awareness and to the
provision of air
search support services to the National Search and Rescue Program.

We are pilots, navigators, spotters, search
coordinators,
electronic search specialists, radio
operators and administration staff.

We are trained to work as spotters on military
aircraft, and to carry out
searches using
light aircraft.

Membership is open to aircraft owners and pilots,
as well as to those
who wish to receive training
as  spotters, navigators,
electronic search
specialists, search coordinators and administrators.

Members receive training in fields such as aviation safety, first aid, survival awareness,
search techniques and procedures.

CASARA has been the umbrella organization for independent provincial and regional groups since 1986.
CASARA operates in all 13 provinces
and territories with access to aircraft, certified pilots, navigators
and spotters.
