Search and rescue volunteers save lives:

Picture
Our members come from all walks of life and bring a wide range of experience with them. One thing we all have in common, is that we are a committed group of serious minded, but fun loving volunteers who offer our time, skills, ideas and energy in an effort to promote aviation safety and to maintain a civilian air search readiness.

When lives are in danger, CASARA volunteers are ready, willing and able to provide assistance. No matter what the challenge, volunteers are called upon to search for individuals who are lost or in distress.
On any given day, our members could be: - searching for a hiker lost in the woods; - searching for a child who has fallen through ice; - saving stranded boaters; - looking for downed aircraft - spotting on a Canadian Forces Search and Rescue Flight; - or even playing a victim on a "SAREX" (search and rescue exercise.)
